The Ramp escalates with d&b Audiotechnik including ArrayProcessing technology
Cleveland, TN – The Ramp has been a fundamental part of the Alabama and Tennessee community for more than 20 years, serving their community in Cleveland, TN. Recently and due to a sound system malfunctioning, they decided to move along with a known brand for them: d&b Audiotechnik. They kicked off their plan looking for a known and experienced d&b partner to move along with their plan.
Thanks to the recommendation from another design firm, Sven was selected to execute this project.
During the initial consultation, we listened to their old sound system and collected information about the space. We realized that some components were not working correctly due to a wrong setup.
The next step was to look at the design, propose a tailored audio system based on d&b solutions, and achieve an exceptional sound experience, considering The Ramp has a passionate worship ministry consisting of contemporary gospel music with a dynamic range of voices.
Our team plugged the design into the d&b ArrayCalc prediction software—a tool for precise initial simulations when planning installations.
After getting a comprehensive analysis, we figured out the specifics of the design, including the array processing, which allowed us to gain more control over the way the line array speakers perform individually. The Ramp appreciated this particular feature when making a decision.
We confirmed that a J-Series system was definitely the best option for the space. In addition to this, there were some J speakers and subs available in the Pre-Owned market, allowing The Ramp to save a significant amount of money and have a top-tier sound system at the same time.
In addition to the main system replacement, they required us to replace the house system with d&b monitor speakers M4 from the Pre-Owned market. A Certified Pre-Owned system from d&b includes new amplification and electronics, as well as all the same accessories, service, and support advantages as brand new systems. A two-year warranty on remanufactured parts provides additional peace of mind.
The Ramp also needed some fill speakers and amplifiers. The equipment was procured brand new.
The complete solution included:
- 4 J12 large-format 3-way line array loudspeaker (d&b Certified Pre-Owned)
- 8 J8 Large format 3-way line array loudspeaker (d&b Certified Pre-Owned)
- 6 J-SUB Triple 18" Cardioid Subwoofer (d&b Certified Pre-Owned)
- 8 M4 2-way stage monitor
- 2 24S point source loudspeaker
- 1 24S-D point source loudspeaker
- 10 30D four-channel amplifier
- 1 10D four-channel amplifier
As part of our services, we were able to take a significant amount of their old equipment in a trade-in value, which made it easier for the client to move forward with the new system, stopping them from holding on to the project while selling it independently and spending a significant amount of money and time.
During the installation stage, The Ramp required us to install the system between services, allowing them to go on with their regular weekly operation. Our installation team took care of all the details on time, allowing them to continue offering regular services to their community.
The final result is a neat and enjoyable sound that fills the main house with various voices and instruments.
